Since its "appearance" in the early 20th century, Tango has conquered the world with its unique, sensual, bohemian, and nostalgic sound of the Buenos Aires soul.
This sultry South American music, whose defined rhythm allows us to follow the striking sound of Argentinian Maestro Bandeonista Walter Hidalgo and his quartet, in a sonic panorama painted by the dancers' complex and demarcated choreography. The sensuality, drama, passion, and intensity of the movements accompany a musical style with a syncopated rhythm, that is, with notes played on a low beat that extends to a high beat, which shifts the accentuation of the accelerated rhythm from the heartbeat.
Among others, it celebrates the master Piazzolla and his iconic Libertango, and pays homage to the most "purists" with La Cumparsita, by Gerardo Rodriguez.
According to the Argentine poet Discépolo, "Tango is a sad thought that can be danced," and it is also the intertwined sensuality of two bodies with music.
It began as a dance performed exclusively by men when it emerged on the streets of Buenos Aires and Montevideo during the last two decades of the 19th century.
Throughout the show, the quartet takes the audience on a journey through the music and poetry of the Rio de la Plata.
