BRIEF INTRODUCTION
The Waterboys, the legendary Scottish band led by the unmistakable Mike Scott, return to Portugal for an exclusive concert on December 12 at the Super Bock Arena in Porto.
SYNOPSIS
Widely regarded as one of the finest live acts in the world, The Waterboys arrive with a stellar lineup: keyboardists Brother Paul (from Memphis) and James Hallawell (from Cornwall), backed by a powerful rhythm section with Irish musicians Aongus Ralston (bass) and Eamon Ferris (drums). The setlist spans their entire journey: from the “big music” era of The Whole Of The Moon and the classic album This Is The Sea, to the folk spirit of Fisherman’s Blues, and their more recent explorations into soul, funk, and country-rock.
In 2025, the band tours with their bold new album Life, Death And Dennis Hopper, released by the legendary Sun Records and inspired by the life of the iconic American actor. Yet their timeless hits will also shine: A Girl Called Johnny (1983), The Whole of the Moon (1985), Fisherman’s Blues (1988) and How Long Will I Love You (1990), among many others.
The audience can expect a night of classics, fresh sounds, improvisation, and an unmatched energy, as Mike Scott promises:
“We live for the thrill of playing live, watching our music evolve with every show. Nothing excites us more than seeing a full tour ahead. How will the songs change? What surprises await? Only those who come will know.”
The concert is supported by M80.
