Braga Youth Centre Hosts the 4th Vivências - University Cancioneiro Festival
On 6 and 7 November, the Braga Youth Centre will host the 4th Vivências - University Songbook Festival, organised by Literatuna - Tuna de Letras da Universidade do Minho. The festival celebrates the culture and traditions of the Portuguese university songbook while bringing the wider community together for two days filled with music and entertainment across the city.
As in previous editions, Vivências will welcome university tunas from across Portugal and offers a unique opportunity to enjoy a competition featuring female, mixed and male tunas on the same stage.
Competing in this year's festival are: TUNAF – Women's Tuna of the Porto Orfeão; TransmonTuna – University Tuna of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro; Tuna Económicas – Academic Tuna of the Lisbon School of Economics and Management, University of Lisbon.
On Friday, 6 November, the festival's traditional Serenades will take place alongside Tun’Obebes – Women's Engineering Tuna of the University of Minho, in a solemn evening set to illuminate the heart of Braga.
On Saturday, 8 November, the programme will also feature GMP – Grupo de Música Popular da Universidade do Minho as a guest act outside the competition.
The main gala performance will begin at 9:00 pm in the Auditorium of the Braga Youth Centre.
