Acclaimed by the prestigious Rolling Stone magazine, by Queen themselves and by 20th Century Fox (who chose them to promote the biographical film “Bohemian Rhapsody”), God Save The Queen have already sold out 20 shows in Portugal.
“They're as good as the real Queen!” said Phil Murphy, Queen's tour manager, adding to the praise of Freddie Mercury's mother and personal secretary, Peter Freestone, who sponsors the band (see documentary).
Playing a repertoire that includes Queen songs from the beginning of their career right up to their latest album “Made In Heaven”, God Save The Queen sets itself apart from other tribute bands by embodying the spirit of the group in the most profound and heartfelt way, thrilling audiences at sold-out shows all over the world.
The band's CV includes many remarkable moments, such as receiving praise from Jer Bulsara (Freddie Mercury's mother) at the group's performance on Freddie Mercury Memorial Day in Montreux in 2006, when they were the most anticipated attraction for the audience. They were also surprised in the middle of a rehearsal for a concert in Europe by Brian May, Queen's guitarist, who made a point of meeting the band and giving his approval.
In addition to Brian May, Jer Bulsara (Freddie Mercury's mother), Peter Freestone (Freddie Mercury's personal secretary), Jacky Smith (president of the official fan club) and Jim Beach (Queen's manager), recognized the band as the best Queen tribute.
With the legendary original sound and Pablo Padin's striking physical and vocal resemblance to Freddie Mercury, the band's performance makes you relive the most important moments in the history of Queen's music. For those who have never had the chance to see them live, seeing God Save The Queen will undoubtedly be the closest you can get to a concert by England's greatest rock band.
Take the advice of Jacky Smith, president of the Queen World Fan Club:
“The best Queen tribute band I've ever seen in my life. Something no fan of the group should miss, it's not to be missed!”
